Mei Zhan Aged Tea

Mei Zhan Aged Tea originates from Nanjing County, Fujian Province. The Mei Zhan tea tree, also known as Da Ye Mei Zhan or Gao Jiao Oolong, is a semi-arbor variety with medium-sized leaves and buds. It is valued for its orchid fragrance and rich, mellow flavor, which become even more pronounced as the tea ages.

The tea is cultivated at altitudes of 900–950 meters, where the mountainous environment enhances its quality. Harvesting takes place twice a year, from April 25 to May 10 and from September 25 to October 10. The leaves are hand-picked under strict standards, ensuring they are fresh, uniform, and free of damage or foreign matter.

The production of Mei Zhan Aged Tea follows a traditional multi-step process, including withering, spreading, shaking, oxidizing, fixation, rolling, drying, and aging. The aging process allows the tea to develop deeper flavors and a more complex aroma while retaining its floral and sweet characteristics.

The brewed tea reveals a deep amber infusion with a smooth, full-bodied taste. The floral orchid notes are complemented by a slight sweetness and a subtle woody complexity that reflects its aging process. Each infusion enhances its flavor, making it an excellent choice for multiple brews.
